Every figure here is indicative and based on the published assumptions. Your actual system size, rebate entitlement and savings depend on your roof, your usage, your tariff and the rules in force on the day you install. We confirm all of it in writing before you commit to anything.
What people ask us.
How big a battery do I need?
Usually enough to cover your evening and overnight usage, plus a margin if you want backup. Most homes land between 10 and 16 kWh. Our battery calculator works it out from your bill.
Is a battery worth it?
It depends on how much power you use after dark and what you're paid to export. If you're home in the evenings and your feed-in tariff is low, storage usually makes sense. If your usage is mostly daytime, solar alone may be better value — and we'll say so.
How does the federal battery discount work?
Batteries between 5 and 100 kWh can attract a discount through the Cheaper Home Batteries Program, applied upfront. Since 1 May 2026 the rate tapers by size — full rate to 14 kWh, then reduced above that. Details on our residential rebates page.
Will it keep my power on in a blackout?
Only if it's configured for backup, which needs specific equipment and wiring. We'll tell you what's involved and which circuits can be supported.
